This is understandable because of the fact that the first and second class sections were all closer to the deck and thus they were able to move more quickly to that place.
On a general basis, only about 20% of the men on board the ship survived the Titanic compared to about 74% of the women who were saved. Out of the number of children about 52% were saved. Indeed every child in the first and the second class sections was saved which can be compared to only about 34% of the children in the third class. This depicts how many people survived the Titanic in specific terms.
It should be noted that the disaster could have been averted because the number of lifeboats on board the ship was below the capacity of the ship. The operators asserted that the ship was indestructible and thus used only 20 of the 32 lifeboats capacity of the ship claiming that it could distract the aesthetics of the ship.
